Tourists in Alfama, a historic working class neighborhood in Lisbon that became one its most popular touristic destinations. Several longtime residents of the area, most elderly and poor, are being evicted from their homes so landlords can rent their apartments on Airbnb. Booming tourism has been the engine of Portugal's economic recovery of recent years after an economic crisis in 2008 devastated its economy. The sector today employs 12,4% pf the population os Lisbon and brough in € 8 billion to the city's economy in 2015
